Adam Idah and 'new Messi join' as Rodgers wins battle for wonderkid – Celtic's perfect attack

There's less than one month to go until the close of the transfer window – and Brendan Rodgers still has time to assemble his perfect Celtic attack.

There have been three incomings for the Scottish champions so far this summer, with Paulo Bernardo, Viljami Sanisalo and Kasper Schmeichel all joining the club. But additions to the frontline have not been made following last season when the goalscoring burden was shared across the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Matt O'Riley, Luis Palma, and Daizen Maeda, all of whom netted double figures.

Celtic didn't have any trouble in front of goal in their opener against Kilmarnock, thrashing Kilmarnock 4-0 on Sunday. But that won't halt Rodgers' plan to build his perfect attack as he has admitted they are still two or three forwards short. Adam Idah enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Celtic Park last season, bagging nine goals in 19 games in all competitions. That haul included the winner in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers at Hampden Park, which sealed a league and cup double.

The Hoops are keen to be reunited with the Norwich City attacker, only this time on a permanent basis. The champions are on the brink of concluding a move for the 23-year-old, having been locked in talks all summer. Norwich have already turned down an offer of £4million for the frontman, who was spotted on holiday in June with Hoops star James Forrest.
