Lorraine Kelly makes personal admission live on TV as she 'snubs' National Television Awards

Lorraine Kelly made a personal admission during the latest live TV appearance as she revealed why she's 'snubbing' the National Television Awards.

The who's who of the TV world will be out in force on Wednesday night (September 11) as the NTAs 2024 take place at the O2 in London. But one familiar face who won't be hitting the glamorous red carpet will be Lorraine.

During Wednesday's (September 11) episode of her self-titled ITV show, Lorraine, the Scottish broadcaster revealed she is missing the star-studded ceremony, which airs live on ITV, because she doesn’t feel confident enough to attend.

Lorraine, 64, receives an invite to the prestigious ceremony every year, but on her show today she admitted she finds the pressure of the red carpet event daunting.

The presenter, whose ITV programme has been nominated previously for the Daytime awards for the NTAs, made the shock announcement to guest Holly Matthews, who was promoting her new book Find Your Confidence: The no-nonsense guide to self-belief, which is out this week.

Lorraine said: "It’s the NTAs and normally I would be going to that and I would usually go. I don’t know what it is but I’m not feeling confident enough to go. That whole red carpet thing is sometimes really scary."
