Livingston striker Joel Nouble eager to face Ross County as transfer deadline day looms

Livingston star Joel Nouble says he’d have no qualms about playing for the Lions in tomorrow's relegation six-pointer against Ross County – even though he appears to be on the brink of leaving.

Nouble’s future at the Tony Macaroni Arena is shrouded in doubt after Martindale left him out of last week’s Scottish Cup win against Raith due to strong interest from north and south of the border.

He was restored to the bench against Dundee at the weekend and made a big impact when he came on to win a penalty in his side's 4-1 defeat that leaves them rooted to the bottom of the Premiership.

And he insists he’d have no problem playing against County even though the window shuts the following day, potentially putting any move in jeopardy.

He said: "That’s why I have an agent – to take away all the things I can’t control. It’s between the gaffer, my agent and whatever team coming in.

"I wanted to play last week regardless of the speculation but the team won the game without me anyway so I was happy for them. All I can control is if I stay here then I am happy to be here and I will try and help fight for the team if I can.

"If not we will see what happens. It’s out of my hands. I love playing football. Even though we are losing games, matchdays are still my favourite days of the week.

"I’ll try and stay positive and control what I can control which is what happens on matchday.

"What happens off the pitch is down to Livingston, the gaffer and my agent.

"I’d happily play on Tuesday. It’s not as if I’d say I need to look after myself in case something happens, I want us to get out of the situation we’re in.
