Derek Adams defends Ross County record on LinkedIn as he pitches for next job with bizarre stat

Derek Adams is looking for his next job already - and defended his Ross County record with a bizarre statistic on LinkedIn.

Adams left his role at the Staggies after just 79 days in charge after his third spell went down about as badly as his strange comments about the state of Scottish football. His latest stint as Dingwall boss yielded just one win as results torpedoed after showing initial promise. A 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat to Partick Thistle was one of the low points in their recent history and a 5-0 thumping against Motherwell last Tuesday ultimately spelled the end for Adams.

But it wasn't all bad according to the man himself. Taking to recruitment platform LinkedIn to state his case for his next job, Adams chose to highlight the combined percentage of games he HASN'T lost over the course of his career. He points to a 42 per cent combined win/draw record in his final spell at County - the lowest of his career so far. And after being in the dugout for 714 games, he's looking to make it 1,000 by getting straight back into management.

Fans pointed out it was an unusual stat to highlight and glosses over the fact his win percentage has, generally, been low. It also points to a steady downward trend, from winning or drawing 72 per cent of his games in his first spell at County, to 56 per cent at Morecambe, to just 42 per cent in his ill-fated final stint in Dingwall.

The 48-year-old leaves the Highlands as a highly unpopular figure among SPFL fans after his disparaging remarks about the Scottish game left a bad taste.
