Liverpool 'want' Manchester United-linked wonderkid and more transfer rumours
Manchester United are braced for heavy-handed competition from Liverpool when it comes to potentially signing French wonderkid Leny Yoro - according to reports.
The highly-rated teenager, who plays as a defender for Lille, is thought to have several top European sides chasing his signature, including United, Liverpool and treble-winners Manchester City from the Premier League alone. Yoro, 18, is already a regular for the French Ligue 1 club and has been capped by France U21s.
Regarded as one of the brightest talents in his country, Yoro has made 19 appearances this season and has already totted-up 35 games throughout his senior career. French outlet Le 10 Sport reports Liverpool and United are interested in signing the youngster with the transfer market set to reopen next month.

Elsewhere, reports from The Athletic claim United risk losing Raphael Varane for nothing next summer due to a question mark over his contract situation. Varane, 30, signed for the club from Real Madrid two years ago and was understood to have put pen-to-paper until 2025 as part of that transfer.
However, as per the article in question, the Frenchman could leave sooner than expected as his deal only actually runs until next summer. The Manchester Evening News understands Varane is among five players United would be open to selling in the January window - for the right price.
