Liverpool's influence in Owen Beck's Bolton transfer as signing talks about Conor Bradley link-up

New Bolton Wanderers signing Owen Beck says parent club Liverpool wanted the best for him in the move to the Whites and is looking forward to linking up with 'best mate' Conor Bradley at the League One club.

The 20-year-old became Bolton's fifth acquisition of the transfer window yesterday as he joined from the Premier League side on loan for the campaign. He had been on loan at Portuguese side Famalicao, but that was cut short so he could join Bolton.

He follows Eoin Toal and Jack Iredale joining on permanent deals from Derry City and Cambridge United this summer. Defender and Beck's team-mate Bradley has joined from Liverpool, while goalkeeper James Trafford has been signed up again from Manchester City.

Beck did not feature for Famalicao and outlined why he felt that move did not work out in the end. He is looking forward to developing further at Wanderers after the Anfield side wanted the best for him and his development.

He said: “I just feel like the way the team played, it just didn’t really suit me. I think they changed from last season so that had a bit of an affect on it. I just didn’t see myself improving as a player there so I’ve come to Bolton and I can’t wait for it.

“They (Liverpool) just wanted the best for me and wanting what I felt was right so Liverpool were great with it. But we move from here now.

“As soon as I found out they (Liverpool) wanted me, I was over the moon. I’ve supported them since I was younger so when they came in it was a no brainer really. I feel like since I’ve been there I’ve improved, I’ve pushed on and I’m here now today."
