Live updates as two air ambulances land on football pitch ahead of League Two game

Two air ambulances landed at Rodney Parade in Newport ahead of Newport County AFC's League Two match fixture against Notts County League to deal with a medical emergency.

The grounds were evacuated but have since been reopened as fans are making their way back into the stadium.

A Newport County spokesperson has released the following statement: "Due to a supporter being taken ill in the stands, an air ambulance has landed on the pitch.

"A delay to kick-off is likely, with more details to follow ASAP. We send our very best wishes to the individual concerned."

They have since released an update to confirm the match will be going ahead, with kick-off now scheduled for 4pm.
