Live updates as police respond to major incident in Welsh town
People are being asked to stay away from part of a Welsh town as police respond to a major incident. Officers said there was no risk to the community following the incident in the early hours of the morning.
An area is cordoned off in Colwyn Bay in the Greenfield Road and Bay View Road areas. The incident is unrelated to a fire at a petrol station in Old Colwyn, officers have confirmed.
North Wales Live reported that a police spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with an incident that occurred in the Greenfield Road (and) Bay View Road area of Colwyn Bay in the early hours of this morning, with a police cordon in place. We would advise the public to avoid the area until further notice, but stress there is no ongoing risk to the local community. There will be a police presence in the locality today whilst our enquiries continue, and we thank you for your patience.”
