There is rush hour chaos this evening with emergency services at the scene of an ongoing incident on a busy main road in Rochdale.
There is a heavy police presence, along with paramedics, at the scene on the A671 Oldham Road near Rochdale town centre, at the junction with the bypass.
Pictures and video from the scene show police and ambulances arriving on blue lights with congestion continuing to build in the area.
Live traffic service Inrix says the road is 'blocked in both directions' with 'heavy traffic' due to the ongoing incident. Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for further details.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed a teenage boy has been 'hit by a truck' this evening.
He sustained leg injuries and has been rushed to hospital.
No arrests have been made yet with investigations ongoing.
An update from live traffic service Inrixreads: "A671 Oldham Road in both directions blocked, heavy traffic due to traffic problem at A664 Rochdale Bypass."
It says the incident was reported at around 4.15pm today.

It is understood this followed a collision with a vehicle earlier this evening.
There are reports of a person being treated 'on the floor' in the road amid the incident this evening.
