Live updates as police incident blocks one lane of A470 causing 50-minute delays

A police incident blocked one lane of the A470 heading south on Tuesday morning for more than an hour. Traffic monitors are showing there are delays of 50 minutes at 8.30am..

It was closed between the Nantgarw and Taffs Well interchanges. Congestion is back to to Bridge Street Interchange. Monitors showed that the lane re-opened just after 8.25am, but long delays remain.

Traffic in Pontypridd and Caerphilly has also been affected by the closure and there are some delays on the northbound carriageway.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix reported that there were two ambulances on scene.
