Live updates as Louis Rees-Zammit has trial in front of NFL scouts at IPP Pro day

Louis Rees-Zammit's big day has arrived. The Welsh rugby superstar gets the chance to convince NFL scouts to take a chance on him after two months of gruelling training learning a new sport.

Rees-Zammit will arrive at the University of South Florida training facility and perform a series of tests in front of scouts from around the NFL on Wednesday morning. How he performs could make or break whether a team includes him in their wider training squad going forward.

The 23-year-old will be tested on his bench press strength, jumping technique, 40-yard dash speed and will take part in a number of positional drills that will scrutinise different skillsets.

The Welshman has already made an impression on his coaches and fellow hopefuls, previously winning the in-house award for athlete of the week. IPP strength and conditioning coach Kevin Heiberger said: "From a speed dynamic standpoint, Louis does things that are extremely difficult that he makes look natural."

Rees-Zammit announced his shock decision to quit rugby back in January, flying out to Florida where he has spent the last eight weeks or so training every day to give himself a shot at a career that could change his life.
