Live updates as A4119 shut in both directions

A road is currently closed in Rhondda Cynon Taf due to a serious crash. South Wales Police has confirmed they are currently at the scene of the c ollision on the A4119 in Tonyrefail.

The road is currently closed in both directions between the bottom of Trebanog Hill and the A4119 southbound. According to the police force, the road is expected to remain closed for some time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible, as delays are expected in the area. Traffic monitoring service has also confirmed there is congestion in the area. Their traffic update reads: "The A4119 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to obstruction on the road between A4093 ( Gilfach Goch turn off) and A4233 ( Trebanog turn off). Congestion to surrounding routes around Tonyrefail as traffic seeks an alternative."
