Welsh rugby in crisis as Warren Gatland on the brink: Live updates

Welsh rugby has been plunged to its deepest and darkest depths, as the future of Warren Gatland remains uncertain.

Beaten 24-19 at the hands of Fiji in the opening week of the autumn internationals, the Australia match provided a must-win scenario for Gatland and Co.

However, they were put to the sword by a far superior Wallabies outfit, who ran in eight tries at the Principality Stadium on Sunday evening, winning 52-20.

During his post-match press conference, Gatland revealed he has already talked with WRU nosses Nigel Walker and Richard Collier-Keywood, and added that he'd be chatting to his family about his future in the role.

"Look, I don’t know," Gatland said, after he was asked whether he thinks he'll be in control for the South Africa game.

"I’ve said that I’m more than comfortable with that, supporting the Welsh Rugby Union in making the best decision for Welsh rugby.

"It’s just about talking to the right people and making the right decisions, whether that’s from a Union perspective or for me and my family."
