LIVE: Trial of Man City's Benjamin Mendy and co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie continues - latest updates

The trial of Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy and co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie continues today.

Mr Mendy, 28, has been charged with eight counts of rape against five women; one count of attempted rape; and one count of sexual assault.

The offences are alleged to have taken place on five different occasions at his Cheshire mansion between October 2018 and August last year, relating to seven women in total. Mr Mendy denies all the charges.

Mr Matturie, 41, from Eccles, Salford, has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of rape; and four counts of sexual assault, relating to eight women.

Both men deny all the charges. They are on trial at Chester Crown Court.

Ms Laws asks Woman Seven whether she recalls having sex with Mr Mendy in the cinema room and other areas of his home, The complainant says she doesn't.

The QC asks: "Do you remember then having sex with Mr Mendy on the sofa?"

"I remember being on the sofa yeah, he was having sex with me," she says.

"I remember trying to get away.

"I was trying to get my hands in front of me from behind me.

Ms Laws puts it to her: "I am going to suggest that all sexual contact between you and Mr Mendy was consensual."

"Definitely not," the complainant replies.

Woman Seven says she only remembers around 'five seconds' when she says she woke up to find Mr Mendy having sex with her.

"I think I only remember that part because I was frightened and wanted to get myself out of that situation," she says.

She agrees that the next morning she was 'hanging around' and 'having fun'.
