Woman allegedly raped by City player Benjamin Mendy tells jury she was told she was going to a party with Jack Grealish

A young woman who alleges she was raped by Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy at a party at his mansion has been questioned at his trial about her interactions with team-mate Jack Grealish at the event.

The French footballer is alleged to have raped the woman, who was 17 at the time, twice in his study during a party at his house in Prestbury in August 2021. His alleged 'fixer' and co-defendant, Louis Saha Matturie, is also accused of two counts of rape against the same woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Mr Mendy, 28 and Mr Matturie, 41, both deny the charges along with several other alleged rape and sexual offences against a number of young women.

As their trial resumed at Chester Crown Court on Monday morning, the jurors heard how the teenager, who is referred to as Woman Ten in press reports of the proceedings, was repeatedly questioned about her interactions with England international Mr Grealish, who is said to have attended the party with pals from Birmingham.

On Friday, the court heard that Mr Grealish, 27, had consensual sex with another woman after she was raped by Mr Matturie. When the trial resumed today (Monday), the jurors were played two more video interviews conducted by police with Woman Ten.

The interviewing officer started by asking Woman Ten about any interaction she had with Jack Grealish and his associates at the party. She described how she had left a nightclub in Manchester earlier in the evening, and was with four girls in a taxi to Prestbury said to have been called by Mr Matturie.
