Young woman who alleges she was raped by Benjamin Mendy aged 17 breaks down as jury watches

A young woman who alleges she was raped by Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy during a party at his house when she was 17 became emotional and broke down when she was quizzed by his barrister.

She repeatedly denied suggestions she agreed to have sex with him, and insisted he forced himself on her in the study of his home. “I was f***ing scared. I was really f***ing scared," said the tearful teenager.

The French footballer is alleged to have raped the woman, who was 17 at the time, twice in his study during a party at his house in Prestbury in August 2021. His alleged 'fixer' and co-defendant, Louis Saha Matturie, is also accused of two counts of rape against the same woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The jurors have heard his fellow City star Jack Grealish also went to the party after leaving Manchester city centre nightclub China White.

Girls who had gathered outside the nightclub as the players left were told to delete any pictures and videos and some of the young women who attended the party were ordered to hand their phones in, the court has heard.

Woman Ten said: “I wasn’t excited that there were footballers there. I was
