LIVE: Traffic STOPPED on major motorway with emergency services on scene - updates

Traffic has been halted on a major Greater Manchester motorway this afternoon following a collision.

Emergency services have rushed to the A627(M) Northbound from J2 Slattock's Interchange to J3 M62 J20 (Rochdale) with all traffic currently held. National Highways are reporting long delays on the approach.

Drivers are currently facing building queues with stationary traffic.

Congestion is currently stretching to J1 A663 (Elk Mill Roundabout), according to online traffic reporting system Inrix.

National Highways are currently reporting delays of 15 minutes. Traffic is no longer being held but queues remain.

There are currently delays of 30 minutes expected, according to National Highways.
