The crash was one of two involving a car and a motorbike which emergency services responded to across Oldham at roughly the same time. Police, firefighters and paramedics were also called out to Burnley Lane, Chadderton.

GMP says no life-threatening or life changing injuries were reported following the collision and no arrests were made. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service added: “Just after 2pm (Saturday, June 3), two fire engines from Chadderton and Oldham central fire station along with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a car on Burnley Lane, Chadderton.

“Crews arrived quickly at scene. Firefighters used a longboard to rescue a man from one of the vehicles, who was then taken to hospital by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.

"Firefighters were in attendance for around 45 minutes.” GMP has appealed for further information on the Ripponden Road crash, with any details being passed on to 101, quoting log number 1777 of June 3, 2022.
