LIVE: Street cordoned off outside pub with police at scene - latest updates

A street in Eccles is cordoned off by police this morning after a serious incident. Regent Street has been taped off outside the Eccles Cross pub - a Wetherspoons chain. Officers have reportedly been at the scene since late last night.

At least one police van is stationed at the scene this morning. The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. The Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police for details.

This comes just days after a man was attacked on the same street. A large cordon was in place outside the same pub on Sunday afternoon. Two people, a man and a woman, were arrested on suspicion of assault.
