LIVE: Street blocked off after smoke billows from Salford flat block with residents evacuated - updates

Fire crews have raced to a street in Salford this afternoon after plumes of smoke were seen coming from a residential block of flats.

At least four fire engines are tackling the blaze at Adelphi Wharf on Adelphi Street on Wednesday (June 26). The cause of the fire is currently unclear.

The M.E.N understands residents have been evacuated from one of the blocks as crews work to tackle the fire. Dramatic pictures show huge plumes of smoke rising from what appears to be the solar panels.
