Donald Trump 'fine' after being rushed from stage after 'gunshots' heard

Donald Trump was rushed off stage by secret service agents during a rally in Pennsylvania after apparent gunshots were heard.

The former US president was surrounding by guards and swiftly taken from the stage after loud bangs were heard. He appeared to grab at his face, while the crowd behind him was visibly distressed.

Video of the incident shows Mr Trump speaking before a number of the noises are heard. The ex-president then lifts a hand to his face and ducks down.

Screaming can be heard from the crowd as black-clad members of his security team - the secret service - run on to the stage.

In later footage Mr Trump can be seen with what appears to be blood on his cheek and neck. While surrounded by secret service agents he stops and lifts one fist to the crowd around him.

The former Apprentice star is locked in a heated fight with current president Joe Biden, with an election due to take place in the US in November.

In a statement, his campaign team said: "President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act.

He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow."
