LIVE: Red Arrows fly over Greater Manchester - pictures, route and updates

The Red Arrows will be seen flying over Greater Manchester this afternoon.

The work-famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team will pass over the region as they travel from their base at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire to Blackpool Airport.

The distinctive red Hawk trainer jets will fly over Denshaw at around 4.14pm and then on to Newhey, south of Rochdale town centre, Heywood, Bury town centre, Harwood, north of Bolton town centre, Smithy Bridge, Horwich, Blackrod, Worthington, Standish, Shevington and Parbold before turning towards Skelmersdale and on to Liverpool. They will land at Blackpool at 4.29pm.

If you miss them today there will be another chance tomorrow. The jets will once again fly over the region as they head to Southport Air Show for midday where they are due to wow the crowds with a display. They will be due to fly over Bolton at 11.56am.

Accordign to flight tracking site https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ the jets seem to be a bit behind the predicted schedule. They are currently north of Nottingham - but should still be due in Greater Manchester in a few minutes times. They don't hang about!

People are already waiting at Liverpool Airport to watch a glimpse of the Red Arrows.

They are due to fly over at 4.22pm.
