LIVE: Queues building on M56 near Manchester Airport after crash - latest updates

Traffic is building on a stretch of the M56 this afternoon after a crash.

Two lanes are currently shut off on the eastbound carriageway between junction three for Princess Road and junction two for Sharston. Congestion is currently back to junction five for Manchester Airport, according to traffic alert service Inrix.

Motorway cameras show queues building up to the scene. A tweet posted by MancTraffic said: "M56 e/b j3 has 2 lanes blocked with queues towards j5."
