LIVE: Police close busy road in Manchester after serious crash - latest updates

Police have closed off part of a busy road in Manchester city centre this morning after a crash.

A stretch of Princess Street is currently shut between Granby Row and Whitworth Street, according to traffic alert service Inrix. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said officers were called to reports of a crash between a motorbike and a car.

At least one person is believed to have been taken to hospital. Officers are diverting traffic away at the scene.

A tweet posted by Stagecoach said: "Route 50. Due to a Police incident on Princess Street, the service will divert heading towards #EastDidsbury via Whitworth Street, Oxford Road and Charles Street. Sorry if this is affecting your journey with us today."

According to traffic alert service Inrix, the road closure on Princess Street is in place between Granby Row and Whitworth Street.
