LIVE: Moor fire breaks out near M62 - latest updates

A moor fire has broken out close to the M62 near Saddleworth.

Smoke can be seen billowing from moorland close to the motorway at Rishworth, near to junction 22, this afternoon (May 1).

Footage shows flames soaring from the ground while heavy plumes of smoke rise near the road.

Further details about the fire are yet to be confirmed.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
