LIVE: Main road closed off with reports of police on scene amid incident - latest updates

A stretch of Manchester Road in Tameside is reportedly closed off this morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the stretch of the road near the junction with Stewart Street is taped off in both directions by police. A closure is also being reported on Google Maps.

Officers are reportedly on the scene, with traffic being turned away. The nearby M60 clockwise entry slip road at junction 23 at Manchester Road is also shut this morning due to 'emergency repairs'.
