LIVE: M67 closed due to smash - latest updates
The M67 heading westbound is closed due to an accident involving two cars. The motorway is closed from junction 4 to junction three, with congestion building.
There is currently slow traffic through the area due to the accident, according to traffic service Inrix. The M67 is shut from J4 A57 (Broadbottom/ Mottram ) to J3 A627 Clark Way (Hyde).

Congestion is extending to Hollingworth back along the A628 and on roads through Godley and Hyde as vehicles divert. The motorway has been closed since around 3.25pm.
North West Motorway Police have confirmed the closure is between J4 and J3. The diversion in place at the moment is via the A57 through Hyde.

Elsewhere in the region, the A34 Moseley Road partially blocked with heavy traffic due to accident at Birchfields Road on the roundabout.
There is also queueing traffic due to earlier accident, a lorry, two cars and two vans involved on M6 Southbound from J17 A534 Old Mill Road (Sandbach/Crewe) to J16 A500 (Stoke-On-Trent/Crewe). All lanes have been re-opened.
Lanes three and four (of four) were closed, the vehicles have been moved into the lay-by.
