Major road shut after smash between school bus and sports car - latest updates

A major road in Hyde has been closed in both directions following a crash involving a school bus and a sports car. Dukinfield Road has been cordoned off from the junction off Bennet Street.

Photos from the scene showed emergency services present including an air ambulance. Public transport has also been affected with the 330 Stagecoach service diverted from the area due to the 'police incident'.

Stagecoach Greater Manchester said: "Route 330. Diversion in both directions via Dewsnap Lane, Ashton Road and Clarendon Road. This is due to a police incident on Dukinfield Road. Sorry if this is affecting your journey with us today."

We have approached emergency services for comment.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "We were called at 13:45 to a report of a collision on Newton Street. Officers remain in attendance."
