BREAKING: City centre art gallery evacuated due to 'disruption' caused by protesters - latest updates
An art gallery has been evacuated this afternoon due to a protest. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has confirmed they are responding to an incident at Manchester Art Gallery on Mosley Street, in Manchester city centre, this afternoon.
The force said on their city centre Twitter account that two protestors were "causing disruption" in the gallery. Officers were on the scene and the venue near St Peter's Square had been "evacuated as a precaution" they said.
No furher details have yet been disclosed. It is not yet known what the protesters are demonstrating about.

We’re aware of two protestors causing disruption in the Manchester Art Gallery, and officers are in attendance.
The Gallery has been evacuated as a precaution to allow the incident to be brought to a safe conclusion and minimise impact to the public."
