Live M62 traffic updates as 'police incident' in Cheshire leaves motorway closed

The M62 is shut to traffic in Cheshire due to a police-led incident tonight (Friday, August 15).

The westbound carriageway is closed between Junction 9 (Warrington) and Junction 8 (Burtonwood).

The closure was first reported shortly after 10pm.

A National Highways spokesperson said: "The M62 in Cheshire is CLOSED westbound between J9 Warrington and J8 Burtonwood due to a Cheshire Police led Incident. There are currently delays of 10 mins in both directions."
