LIVE: M60 fire stops traffic as fire engines race to scene - latest updates
A vehicle fire has stopped traffic on the M60.
The incident which between junctions 5 and 6 of the circular motorway has led to lane closures on the anticlockwise carriageway.
Images seen by the Manchester Evening News show smoke rising above the motorway near its junction with Princess Parkway.
One eyewitness who is stuck in the queuing traffic spotted 'at least' three fire engines attending the scene and one ambulance.
According to Google Maps, some of the motorway is closed anti-clockwise at junction 5, stopping traffic heading towards Stockport.
The M60 anti-clockwise exit slip road for Princess Parkway heading south towards the M56 also appears to be closed.
Traffic is queuing on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M60 back to junction 7 for Sale.
