Live M4 updates as crash causes long delays near Swansea

Long queues are starting to form on the M4 eastbound on the outskirts of Swansea after a crash. Traffic monitoring systems report that the crash happened between junction 45 for Ynysforgan and Junction 44 at Llansamlet.

Traffic can already be slow at this point of the motorway as it is reduced to two lanes. Traffic cameras show gridlocked traffic in the area, especially as people try to exit the motorway onto Ynysforgan roundabout. The slip roads on and off the M4 are blocked which is adding to the congestion on the carriageway itself.

Live maps show traffic the M4 is slow eastbound between Llangyfelach and Birchgrove as a result.
