LIVE: Huge M62 delays approaching Manchester following crash - latest updates

Motorists have been facing huge two-hour queues approaching Greater Manchester on the M62. Drivers have been affected by a collision that took place earlier this morning (February 21).

Two lanes were closed on the M62 westbound following the incident, before 7am. The crash took place between junctions 23 at Huddersfield and 22 at Denshaw.

Emergency services were called out to the scene. While lanes have since reopened, queues have grown as commuters heading from Yorkshire to Manchester join the road.

The ambulance service has been in attendance. A diversion has been in place.

Separately, drivers heading from Merseyside and Warrington to Manchester are also facing queues on the M62 this morning. One lane is closed eastbound between junctions 11 and 12, near Eccles, following a collision.

The queues have eased since earlier this morning, when there were two hour delays.

National Highways says drivers are still facing queues of at least an hour following this morning's crash.
