LIVE: Homes 'evacuated' with bomb squad called after discovery at house
Residents are reportedly being evacuated with bomb disposal experts called following a discovery at a house in Altrincham.
'Old war shells' have reportedly been found at a home on Avocet Drive in Broadheath during a clear-out. Police are now on the scene, with the bomb squad called to the area.
"We're clearing out my dad's house", the woman who made the discovery said today (Saturday). "We've found some gun shells now the police are everywhere, evacuating the area and they're bringing the bomb disposal down."

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after midday today (2 November), officers were called to reports of suspicious items found during a property clearance on Avocet Drive, Altrincham. EOD are en-route to assess the items, and a precautionary cordon has been put in place."

The property where the shells were found belonged to Daniel Edward Connor MBE, who died aged 78 a couple of weeks ago.
His daughter Nicki described him as a "war hero" and said he was a leading weapons expert during his 30 years in the military.
Scott Sawyer, 48, who was Daniel's best friend, found the shells in a plastic tub in the back garden.
