Leny Yoro shares update as Man United defender eyes return from injury

Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has shared an update as he continues his recovery to full fitness.

The 18-year-old, who joined United from Lille for £52million in July, has still not played a minute of competitive football for the club after injuring his metatarsal against Arsenal in pre-season. He has since missed the opening 15 matches, including 10 in the Premier League and three Europa League fixtures.

But now, Yoro is closing in on a return to action. The Frenchman has been spotted back in team training and was greeted with a warm welcome by his United teammates. A guard of honour was formed with Yoro running through the middle and the United players tapping him on the back, neck and the head.

After United posted a clip of that on their Instagram account, Yoro, who boasts 839,000 followers, shared it to his own story for his fans to see. Yoro looked in a positive mood while being back and trained with the rest of the team ahead of their Europa League clash against PAOK at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The original post from Manchester United has so far been 'liked' by more than 180,000 accounts, including Yoro's teammates Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, Andre Onana and Diogo Dalot.

The PA news agency reports that while Yoro completed the majority of the session, he is not expected to feature against PAOK or Leicester at the weekend. Yoro could make his long-awaited return in United's first game under Ruben Amorim after the international break against Ipswich.
