Manchester United are ramping up their preparations for Ruben Amorim's first match in charge. The Portuguese leads United to Ipswich Town on Sunday after replacing Erik ten Hag.

Amorim took up his head coach role last week, signing a three-year contract after United agreeing a compensation package with Sporting CP. United head to Ipswich 12th in the Premier League table after picking up four points in their last two games.

Amorim has been working with his some of his new players at Carrington this week, while many have been injured or on international duty. Among the first-team group is 16-year-old Jim Thwaites, who is regarded to have a bright future ahead of him. So, who exactly is the teenager?

Thwaites is a 16-year-old central midfielder who has risen through the ranks at Old Trafford. He was one of 10 players to sign a first-year scholarship deal in the summer, as young players cannot sign professional contracts until they turn 17.
