Leicester star drops huge update on Instagram ahead of tonight

Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana has confirmed he will be back and available to play for the club in their next match.

This week, the Foxes have an important Europa Conference League last-16 second leg against Rennes in France. Having won the first leg 2-0, they will be hoping to defend that lead and advance into the next round of the competition.

However, the defence hasn’t exactly been the club’s strong point this season. For instance, they have been simply awful when it comes to defending corners throughout the current campaign.

One man who will be aiming to resolve that issue is Fofana. The player suffered a broken leg and ligament damage before the current season even began, and has been out ever since.

Now, though, in a post he shared to his Instagram story, he confirmed the news that all fans would have been hoping for with a clear message that simply read: “I’m back.”

TIF thoughts on Wesley Fofana and Leicester…

Back in 2020, Fofana joined from St Etienne for a reported fee that could rise to £30m. Just 19 years old at the time, hopes would have been high after paying so much to sign the defender on a five-year deal.

It’s safe to say, though, he lived up to expectations in his debut season. Indeed, he played 38 times in all competitions for the club, including the full 90 minutes as Leicester managed to win the FA Cup.

Having helped his side to finish fifth in the league last season, things aren’t looking so good this term without Fafana in the team. The club are currently in ninth, but if Fofana can be back to his best soon enough, there’s every chance the Foxes will have a strong end to the campaign.
