Leicester City transfer failures, Rodgers 'rebuild' spin, Schmeichel future – questions answered

There is the sense that Leicester City are inching towards incomings and outgoings but the wait for significant transfer activity goes on. Here, our City correspondent Jordan Blackwell answers supporters' questions on the market and potential City business, as well as on other pre-season matters.

A: I suspect he is more likely to go than stay. He has one year left on his deal and given how he dropped down the pecking order last season, I suspect City won't be keen to renew his contract, and so selling him this summer rather than losing him on a free transfer next summer makes more sense.

Without Evans next to him, Soyuncu's limitations showed. He has a tendency to lose concentration and make rash decisions. He is better in those areas than when he first arrived, but they still come to the fore more often when Evans isn't next to him. I thought he improved around March time, just before Fofana and Evans became fit again, but by then it was too late.

Rodgers' comment after the Spurs game, where Soyuncu lost the 50-50 with Romero in the build up to Son's first goal, was significant I think. Rodgers didn't mention Soyuncu by name, but basically called that action out as unacceptable. From there, Fofana and Evans were first choice with Amartey providing support if Rodgers wanted another centre-back on the pitch.

As well, his reputation is probably such that City can still get a decent fee for him, and so he probably is one they will look to offload to finance incoming deals.

A: Iversen is an interesting one. From what I've heard so far, it seems he wants to stay and fight for a place at City. He was certainly keen to return to training, arriving back at Seagrave last Monday despite being away with Denmark just two weeks
