Man Utd could make Youri Tielemans move as Leicester City respond to transfer offer

Here are your headlines...

Manchester United's interest in Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is "growing", according to reports.

The Old Trafford club have so far been frustrated in their attempts to lure Frenkie de Jong to Manchester, despite reportedly agreeing a transfer with Barcelona. The Netherlands star appears to be unwilling to join his former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag at United while Barcelona are set to compete for major honours next season.

And CBS claim that the Red Devils' interest in Belgian playmaker Tielemans is "genuine" and "growing" with less than three weeks to go until the 2022/23 season kicks off. The 25-year-old could be targeted as an alternative to de Jong if United fail to complete a transfer. Meanwhile, Tielemans is also a prime target for Arsenal as boss Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his midfield ranks this summer.

With Leicester City still to make a summer signing, the club have been warned that manager Brendan Rodgers "cannot perform miracles".

City are the only Premier League club still to bolster their first team ranks this summer, and Rodgers has said they will need to sell players in order for that to change. There has been talk of Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Boubakary Soumare and Hamza Choudhury all moving on, but nothing has come to fruition so far.

If City were to lose Tielemans and perhaps even playmaker James Maddison, who has been loosely linked with Tottenham, that could spell trouble for Rodgers' men, according to pundit Danny Mills, who believes the threat of relegation is a very real one.

Leicester City have rejected an opening offer from AS Monaco for midfielder Boubakary Soumare, according to reports.

Soumare made the switch to the King Power Stadium from Lille
