Leicester City told how to beat Newcastle to huge transfer amid 'concretely interested' claim

Leicester City are "concretely interested" in signing PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare this summer, according to a report.

The 24-year-old impressed twice against Leicester in Europa Conference League action this season and he could be one of two central midfielders Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in over the summer. His performances in the Eredivisie have caught the eye and he is widely regarded as one of the best players in the league for his position.

Sangare is said to have a release clause of €40m and PSV are not willing to entertain offers any lower than that, say Dutch outlet Eindhovens Dagblad. That could make things difficult for Leicester, who may be in the market for players with a smaller price tag.

City would face competition from Newcastle for the midfielder's signature. The Magpies reportedly tried to sign him in the January transfer window.

It is now widely accepted that Leicester will lose midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer, with the Belgian making clear that he has ambitions of playing Champions League football.

He has been linked with numerous clubs, including Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool and Real Madrid. Fringe player Hamza Choudhury could also depart, while Dennis Praet looks likely to return to Torino on loan.
