Leicester City ready to top €35m in stunning bid to land 'the next Kevin De Bruyne'

Leicester City are said to have long been an admirer of Charles De Ketelaere and this summer have been suggested to be in 'pole position' for his signature.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to City and Italian champions AC Milan after scoring 14 Jupiler Pro League goals in 33 games to help Club Brugge lift their third straight Belgian title.

De Ketelaere has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in Europe and Brendan Rodgers' side have been linked with him since January as the Foxes look to construct a 'healthy shake-up' of the current crop of players.

The Foxes already possess a handful of Belgian internationals. Youri Tielemans, Dennis Praet and Timothy Castagne have all played their part in the club's recent success, with all three starting in the Belgium top flight before making moves to European clubs and arriving in LE3.

A fresh report in Italy has claimed City are ready to outbid Milan's €35m (£30m), despite Gazzetta dello Sport suggesting the Serie A side 'remain his first choice' with the pull of Champions League football next season.

Where he will be playing his football next season remains up in the air, but City have received an attractive incentive in any pursuit to sign De Ketelaere. Belgium journalist Alexandre Braeckman has said that any deal would be a good one for the Foxes, with the Belgian international having such a 'bright future' ahead of him.
