Leicester City are challenging Manchester United, Tottenham and top six in 'important' table

Leicester City may have been unable to get the better of Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium but the point gained brought up a key milestone for the club.

City have now won 28 points at home this season, which matches their tally from the whole of the last campaign. That’s despite battling in mid-table this term, compared to their challenge of the upper echelons last year.

Brendan Rodgers' side have three games to go to surpass that total, and they are fixtures from which they should earn a decent amount of points. They take on bottom-half sides in Everton, Norwich, and Southampton at the King Power Stadium before the season concludes.

It actually means City’s home record is rival to that of many of the clubs in the top-six positions. They are currently seventh in the home table, but have played one fewer game than Manchester United and West Ham ahead of them, while they are only three points off fourth-placed Tottenham.

Their four home losses – to Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham – is only bettered by Liverpool (0), Man City (2), and Chelsea (3). And it’s a record that has spread across all competitions, with City unbeaten in all of their cup and European games at home this season too. In all, they have lost just one of their last 15 at the King Power Stadium.

It is away from home where City have let themselves down. They have only picked up 14 points on the road, the 16th best record in the division.
