Leeds fans factor and Etihad dilemma delay Youth Cup final decision - Man City academy notebook

Manchester City's plans for the FA Youth Cup final are continuing behind the scenes, but there is still no confirmation of where the match will be played.

Last week, City booked their place in their first Youth Cup final in four years with a late victory over Bristol City, with Leeds following them to set up an enticing clash in the final after their entertaining victory over Millwall.

City know they will host the final, but a decision is yet to be made on the date and venue of the clash as talks are ongoing. Meanwhile, one City academy product was victorious at Wembley this weekend, while the City Football Group took another step forward over in Italy this week.

Here is the latest from inside City's academy:

City will host the Youth Cup final, which must take place by May 4 as the latest date. The last three finals have taken place at the first team stadium of the host team - at Villa Park, Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium - attracting tens of thousands of fans in attendance. City host their Youth Cup games at the 7,000-capacity Joie Stadium, which held their last home final in 2019 rather than at the Etihad Stadium, when only 3,800 fans attended. Almost 20,000 fans were at the City of Manchester Stadium for City's 2008 final success and it would be fantastic to see a repeat 16 years on.
