Leeds: 'Creative' £13m star would be 'great signing' at Elland Road

Leeds United target Daichi Kamada would be a ‘great addition’ for manager Jesse Marsch, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Elland Road over the summer before he ended up staying put at Eintracht Frankfurt but speculation over his long-term future has continued to mount.

Back in May, Football Insider reported that Leeds were weighing up a move for Kamada as Marsch is ‘an admirer’ after seeing his talents first hand during his time in charge of Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

However, a formal offer failed to materialise for the Japan international, allowing him to enter the final year of his current contract at the Deutsche Bank Park.

And German outlet Kicker (via TEAMtalk) claim that the possibility of Kamada departing Frankfurt on a free transfer is becoming a reality as they are struggling to convince him to put pen to paper on fresh terms.

The versatile attacker is said to be aware that he could get ‘significantly more lucrative options’ following his impressive displays over the last 18 months.

That is likely to open the door to his potential suitors once again, with the likes of Leeds, Tottenham Hotspur and Benfica previously credited with an interest in Kamada, who was valued at £13 million.

Leeds brought in several players over the summer transfer window, allowing Marsch to shape the first-team squad in his image.

And O’Rourke believes the arrival of Kamada would add ‘creativity’ into the west Yorkshire outfit’s engine room.

He told GiveMeSport: “I think he’d be a great addition for Leeds United. He would add creativity into that midfield, and he can play further forward as well; he can score goals.”
