Arsenal scouts 'keeping an eye' on £50m sensation at the Emirates
Arsenal will have been keeping tabs on Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk ahead of the January transfer window, but they will face plenty of competition for his signature, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Mikel Arteta was handed £118 million to strengthen his squad at the Emirates over the summer but is already preparing to invest further in the future.
Newcastle United are considering a £50 million offer for the man dubbed ‘the next Neymar’, according to i News.
The report claims that Eddie Howe wants to bolster his wide areas with his price tag not beyond the financial capabilities of the Saudi-backed side.
But Arsenal may still have the edge on any of their competitors after the 21-year-old admitted in an interview that he would struggle to say no to a move to the Emirates.
Arteta and Edu could now reignite their interest once the January window reopens at the turn of the year after missing out on him at the end of the summer.
Reports in Italy have also suggested that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the sensation ahead of the turn of the year.
O’Rourke believes that Arsenal will be keeping tabs on the eight-cap Ukraine international ahead of upcoming windows.
But the journalist warns that the Gunners will not be alone in their pursuit with clubs from across Europe likely eyeing Mudryk.
O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure Arsenal have been keeping tabs on him for a while and will continue to do so right up until the January window and even the summer one. I think Arsenal scouts, as well as scouts from all over Europe, will be keeping an eye on Mudryk right now.”
