Leeds: £26m star likened to Kimmich 'on the list' at Elland Road

Leeds United have a shortlist of four to five midfield targets, including RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

It is an area the Yorkshire club are looking to strengthen this summer, with Adams being one name who has been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Leeds’ need for a new midfielder is becoming more pressing, as Kalvin Phillips is heading closer to the exit door.

As per The Athletic, Manchester City have reached an agreement with their Premier League rivals to sign the England midfielder.

His departure would still leave Jesse Marsch with Adam Forshaw, Jamie Shackleton, Mateusz Klich and Marc Roca.

But given Forshaw’s injury problems last season and Shackleton’s lack of top-flight experience, bringing in someone like Adams, who is said to be high up Victor Orta’s list, still looks necessary.

As well as Phillips, Leeds also look set to lose Raphinha, with Barcelona thought to be closing in on a deal to sign the Brazilian.

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Leeds are considering a host of midfielders right now, including Adams.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “Ultimately, there is that position that needs filling, and they’ve got four or five possible names is what I’m told at the moment for who fills it, and Tyler Adams is just one of those.”

While £38,000-a-week Adams, who is valued at £26m by the CIES Football Observatory, is probably not on Phillips’ level yet, he very well could be.
