Leeds: £21m Frenchman would be 'very good signing' at Elland Road

Leeds United would be making a “very good signing” if they manage to bring Arnaud Kalimuendo to Elland Road this summer, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

Jesse Marsch has already added six new players to his squad, but the American is yet to increase his striker options.

According to 90min, Leeds are interested in signing the PSG youngster, whose stock has risen over the last two seasons following two productive loan spells with Lens.

Patrick Bamford was the Whites’ only senior recognised frontman last term and Marsch is therefore hoping to address the situation by bringing the 20-year-old to the Premier League.

The report states that Leeds are pushing towards agreeing a £21m deal with the reigning French champions, who are prepared to let the frontman leave before September’s deadline.

Completing a deal for Kalimuendo would take Leeds’ summer spending past the £100m mark, with Darko Gyabi, Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen, Tyler Adams, Luis Sinisterra and Brenden Aaronson already on board at Elland Road.

And Talbot reckons that landing a deal for the France Under-21 international would be more great news for Marsch’s side, who are making the most of the departures of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Marsch has got the opportunity to get rid of some and bring some in who do have his values and the two striker system could be great up front next season and Kalimuendo would be a very good signing for Leeds.”

Despite making just a handful of appearances for PSG, Kalimuendo has enjoyed success out on loan in France.

His first spell at Lens in 2020-2021 saw him score eight goals and contribute six assists across all competitions in 31 appearances.

But Kalimuendo’s fortunes convinced Lens to re-sign him
