Leeds may ‘ramp up their efforts’ to complete 57-goal transfer at Elland Road

Leeds United may ‘ramp up their efforts’ to sign Martin Terrier from Rennes before the end of the transfer window, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs. 

Jesse Marsch is preparing his side for the 2022-23 season after a summer of upheaval at Elland Road and the club are still on the lookout for new recruits. 

According to a report from L’Equipe, Leeds are interested in signing the 25-year-old this summer with Marsch looking to bolster his front-line. 

Patrick Bamford missed much of last season with injury and the American will want to avoid being caught short in attack again, especially with Raphinha departing for Barcelona. 

However, the Whites are not alone in their pursuit of the versatile forward. The same report details that West Ham hold an interest while this week has also seen Everton emerge as potential suitors as well. 

Paris Saint-Germain striker Arnaud Kalimuendo also remains on Leeds’ radar, with a £21 million agreement reportedly close, but that has not ruled out a swoop for Terrier as well. 

Jacobs understands that Leeds could increase their efforts to sign Terrier in the coming weeks, with the transfer window set to shut on September 1. 

The CBS reporter says that the club are keen to once again over rely on an injury prone Patrick Bamford steering clear of injuries, with deals for both Terrier and Kalimuendo on the table. 

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “This is a player that Leeds really like. It’s not as advanced as Kalimuendo at this point, but we’re getting to that stage now where Leeds don’t want to start the season over-reliant on Bamford, and as a consequence, they may well ramp up their efforts on Terrier.”
