Lee Clark: Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe gets my vote for Manager of the Year

Newcastle United go into their last game against Burnley and believe me when you are a manager you want to win every single game - no matter whether you are safe or not.

So Burnley will be in for a tough game and regardless of the circumstances, I think Eddie Howe has now made it clear that the top 10 is in his thoughts. For him, there will be an emotional tie to Burnley because he managed them at one stage and they are in a relegation fight.

As a player or manager it is never on your mind what the consequences are for the other team, it's always what is at stake for you and your season. No professional you don't go out to do favours for your old club either.

It's still important for Newcastle to get a win because they want to sign the season off on a high and Eddie will want to continue the feel-good factor around the club. He has done an unbelievable and the turnaround has been fantastic.

I didn't expect anybody to produce such a unity like he has and the manner in which he's done it has been fantastic. It's been a lot quicker than I thought and what most people thought.

Look at the Arsenal game, it was far from a drab end of season match and the opposition were actually going for the Champions League. But the atmosphere before, during and after was sensational.

Eddie will want to continue all of that at Burnley because the buzz around the football club going into the summer has been fantastic. A top 10 place would be cherry on the cake for Newcastle. Can they do it? They'll need the win and hope other results go their way.
