Tyrone Mings to Newcastle United rumour sees Aston Villa fans talk up the price

Tyrone Mings has once again been linked to Newcastle United following the news that Nathan Ake could cost £50m to prise from Manchester City.

Newcastle United are rumoured to be interested in 27-year-old Nathan Ake of Manchester City. However, yesterday the Telegraph reported that the asking price for the defender is £50m.

Inevitably that made a deal unlikely, and the Birmingham Mail responded by speculating that Newcastle could turn their attention to Tyrone Mings. The 29-year-old England centre-back previously played for Eddie Howe at Bournemouth.

The newspaper quoted a price of £35m for Mings, though added that Steven Gerrard would be unlikely to sell him. Villa have also already signed Diego Carlos from Seville.

The reaction of Newcastle fans to signing Mings might not be unanimously positive. However, the reaction in the comments from Aston Villa fans when they read the fee could be £35m was fairly positive, though there was some dispute over whether it was enough.
